Following a quarterly investor call, Activision has re-confirmed that Warzone 2 will be launching later this year.

The highly anticipated follow-up to the Activision's famed battle royale, Warzone 2 has been re-confirmed as launching later this year. The news comes via Activision's quarterly investor call, where the studio confirmed its releases planned for the second half of the year.

According to the call, the releases planned include "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, a new Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 experience, World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic, World of Warcraft: Dragonflight, and Overwatch 2, with Diablo IV planned for release in 2023."

The Warzone 2.0 experience, as Activision are calling it, has been subject to plenty of leaks and speculations since its announcement. So far, leaks have included the upcoming game's full map and POIs and well as the possible return of pro perks.

Call of Duty's main entry for this year, Modern Warfare 2, is set to launch Oct. 28. Activision's investor call confirmed that Warzone 2 will be "tightly integrated with the premium game" and "will launch as an extension of the Modern Warfare universe later this year."

A Call of Duty blog post has also confirmed that both Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0 will run on one "unified engine." Richochet Anti-Cheat will be launching day one for both releases.
