Best PlayStation Deals for July: Save on PS5 Ragnarok Bundle, Elden Ring, More

Sony is currently hosting its PlayStation Summer Sale with loads of titles at deep discounts, including such recent releases as Hogwarts Legacy, Stray, and Dead Space (Remake). If you’re like me, then you prefer to own a physical disc when possible—and you’re in luck, because there are deals available for those as well.

For those who haven’t taken the plunge and upgraded to the PlayStation 5 console, I personally think it’s well worth the money, and thousands of gamers would agree with me. No one can say if or when the PS5 Pro will launch or how that will affect the price of the original format. What we do know is that the PlayStation 5 is a fantastic machine that offers 8K resolution, ray-tracing technology, much faster loading times over the PS4 console, and a huge library of next-gen games that are as visually spectacular as they are fun.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 - Launch Edition (PS5 Pre-Order)

While this isn't technically a deal, you can snag some extras for one of the most anticipated games of 2023. Pre-ordering the Launch Edition nets you (see what I did there?) in-game content, including:

  • Arachknight Suit for Peter early unlock with three color variants

  • Shadow-Spider Suit for Miles early unlock with three color variants

  • Web Grabber gadget early unlock

  • +3 Skill Points

The game isn't scheduled to launch until October 20, 2023, so to tide you over until then, you should check out Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales - Ultimate Edition. Starring the titular Miles Morales, the game has you web-slinging through the city and learning new and unique powers while making use of the quick, action-packed combat style you’ve come to know and love.

Elden Ring

Fans of souls-likes should pick up this critically acclaimed title if they haven’t already. Elden Ring is set in the Lands Between, a realm fraught with danger and ruled by several demigods. You play as the Tarnished, whose goal is to repair the titular Elden Ring. This game isn’t for the faint of heart—it offers a healthy amount of challenge. But those who are patient will find it’s as rewarding as it is punishing.

Hogwarts Legacy

If you’ve ever read or watched Harry Potter and thought to yourself, “I’d like to get in on that,” Hogwarts Legacy is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for. Create your own character and attend the illustrious Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the 1800s. Magic and mystery await you as you explore the open world in this action RPG that lets you be the best (or worst) witch or wizard you can be.

Ghost of Tsushima - Director's Cut

Ghost of Tsushima was released in 2020, and it received high marks from our reviewer for its fast-paced action combat and immersive storytelling. You play as Jin Sakai, an honorable samurai determined to protect Tsushima Island during the first Mongol invasion of Japan. You'll witness his fall from grace before building him up to be the hero Tsushima Island needs. The Director’s Cut gives you some in-game cosmetics; an expansion for Iki Island, an area available to you once you progress through the story; and access to the Legends Mode, which pads out your game time with online co-op. The PS4 version also includes a free PS5 upgrade.
