The developers behind Tiny Tina's Wonderlands apparently has nine triple-A titles currently in the works.
Gearbox's parent company, Embracer Group, published their Q4 and year end financial report on May 19. In it, the company discussed that Gearbox currently has "nine AAA games under development." Naturally, the report didn't expand on what these games would be, or whether they're being developed or simply published by Gearbox.
Regardless, nine AAA titles is a hefty amount.
Gearbox Software is perhaps best known for its Borderlands series, with tis recent release Tiny Tina's Wonderlands being a tabletop-inspired spin-off. The studio also developed the PlayStation 2 port of Half-Life and published games such as We Happy Few and Tribes of Midgard under its publishing arm, Gearbox Publishing.
In Embracer Group's report, they detailed how Tiny Tina's Wonderlands exceeded management's initial sales expectations and that Gearbox will "release post-launch content on a regular basis throughout the summer of 2022."
Aside from Gearbox, the Embracer Group also owns the likes of Koch Media, Saber Interactive, THQ Nordic, and more.
