Wondering how to fish in Core Keeper? Here's what you need to know.

What's this? A new crafting game set in an underground cavern? Sign us up! Core Keeper is a mining sandbox game from Pugstorm and Fireshine Games. Akin to the likes of Terraria, Stardew Valley, and Minecraft, players will find themselves building bases, gathering resourses, and fighting monsters in order to survive the depths of the underground.

The game currently sits in early access, but that doesn't mean it hasn't been filled to the brim with content. Players starting out in Core Keeper might be wondering how certain mechanics in the game work - like fishing, for example.

How to Unlock Fishing in Core Keeper

In order to unlock the ability to fish in Core Keeper, players will need to go through a number of prerequisites first. To start with, you'll need to advance your crafting ability to the Tin Crafting tier, which you can reach by making a Tin Workbench.

To make a Tin Workbench, you'll need one piece of Wood, six Copper Bars, and 15 Tin Bars.

Build and place your Tin Workbench to unlock the ability to craft a Tin Fishing Rod. This requires five pieces of Wood and four Tin Bars.

So, you've built your Tin Fishing Rod. Now it's time to use it. Fishing in Core Keeper works in a similar way to other crafting/simulation games. Head to a body of water and click the right mouse button to cast your rod into it.

When the line begins to bob, press the right mouse button again. You'll then enter into a small mini-game where you'll need to reel in the fish without it getting away or breaking the fishing line. Use the right mouse button to slowly reel the fish in.

It can be tricky at first but it'll get easier as your Fishing Skill improves. Keep at it and you'll master it in no time.
