Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is finally here, but how do we approve of its frame rate? Keep on reading to find out.

The latest entries in the popular Pokemon series take players on an exciting new adventure through the Paldea region filled with unique Pokemon to collect and battle with. These games build off of the groundwork laid out by previous titles: Pokemon Legends: Arceus and Pokemon: Sword and Shield giving players the chance to finally experience a fully open-world Pokemon game.

While this opens the doors for a truly memorable Pokemon adventure, it does leave many wondering if the Nintendo Switch has the capacity to support it.

Many in the gaming community know that when it comes to technical and graphical prowess, Nintendo consoles traditionally don't size up against Sony and Microsoft consoles. Many titles over the years such as Risk of Rain 2 have suffered from technical difficulties as a result of the consoles' limited hardware. That isn't to say that all titles have been completely subpar as first-party titles such as Super Mario Odyssey and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild have been released to widespread acclaim.

Unfortunately, Pokemon: Scarlet and Violet are not so lucky. Ideally, the game would be running at an average of 30 FPS, just as other Switch titles have in the past. This doesn't seem to be the case as many fans have reported immense frame rate drops that have made the game almost unplayable at certain moments. Players have commonly experienced these drops when walking down hills as they explore the region, as noted in a tweet by user ToxicRadio.

As of this moment, there has been no patch released by GameFreak that helps mitigate the frame rate issues affecting the game.
