Silent Hill Movie Director Confirms Remake, More Games in Development

Christophe Gans, the director of the 2006 Silent Hill film, confirmed in an interview that there are more Silent Hill games in development, including a remake of Silent Hill 2 by Bloober Team. Gans alluded to the next films in development and confirmed long-running rumors about the next installments in the series in a YouTube interview uploaded Monday.

Speculations about a new Silent Hill game have circulated since June of 2021, when Bloober Team announced its partnership with Konami. Although CEO Piotr Babieno declined to comment on the possibility of a remake in an interview with IGN earlier this year, screenshots of the game leaked in September.

In a translation of Gans' interview posted to Resetera by prominent leaker Dusk Golem, Gans is quoted as saying he is "working with the Silent Team and original creators at Konami." He later added that he hasn't worked with Hideo Kojima, who has been rumored to be working on a Silent Hill-related project. A 2021 report by Video Games Chronicle stated that a "famous gaming publisher" is working alongside Bloober Team for their Silent Hill release, and some believe that this publisher is Kojima Productions. Unfortunately, Gans' interview did little to clarify these speculations.

Additionally, Gans mentioned that there are "several games in development as we speak," ensuring that the Silent Hill franchise will be "revived" as a result of the success of Konami's remakes of its Resident Evil titles.
