Konami has announced that Super Bomberman R 2 is on the way, aiming for a release next year.
A follow-up to Konami's 2017 Super Bomberman R has been announced. Revealed as part of the Nintendo Direct mini: Partner Showcase, Super Bomberman R 2 is set for release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.
According to the game's announcement trailer, Super Bomberman R 2 will feature a brand new battle mode "Castle" which sees players build up their defenses on the Castle Side and defend it against Attackers. Additionally, the game's story mode will be more expansive, featuring exploration, base building, boss battles, and more.

Other battle modes set to appear are Classic battle mode, 3v3 team battle mode "Grand Prix", and a new Battle Royale mode "Battle 64" which brings up to 64 players together for a destructive showdown.
The trailer also promises an "incredible amount of content" with the voice over saying that the game will "blow your mind."
Super Bomberman R 2 doesn't have a definitive release date as of yet, though its currently scheduled for release next year, in 2023. Be sure to chck out the trailer above for a glimpse at what's to come.
