Are you reading this during a rare break from Hyrule ever since you downloaded The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom? It’s possible, since the game is the fastest selling in the series.
Though its predecessor, Breath of the Wild, was also massively popular, it has nevertheless ended up on Guide Strats’ list of most complained-about games, which it compiled by looking to Twitter for sentiment about the most popular and notable games for each console and genre.
While the majority of tweets about Breath of the Wild are positive, about 20% are not, putting it at the top of the list for Nintendo Switch games and second for RPGs.
As beloved as Pikachu and his fellow Pokémon are, three of the franchise's titles join Breath of the Wild on the Nintendo Switch list: Pokémon Legends: Arceus (18.9% negative tweets), Pokémon Sword and Shield (12.5%), and Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl (10.3%).
While people have clamored to get the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X these past few years, it doesn’t mean they’re 100% happy with the games on them. The Last of Us Remastered is the most complained-about game on the PS5; 16.7% of all tweets about it are negative. Our own Apps and Gaming Analyst Gabriel Zamora called the game “wholly unnecessary” for its disappointing gameplay.
The second most complained-about game on the PS5 is Stray, a game where you play as a ginger tabby who has to navigate a cyberpunk city. Xbox owners will be able to ascertain whether they feel the same, since the game is probably coming to the platform soon.
Right now, Xbox Series X players are hating on Halo Infinite the most, with 24.5% of all tweets leaning toward the negative. There are lots of reasons for these complaints: First, it was delayed a year because of the pandemic. The trailer meant to keep interest going in the meantime, but its poor graphics resulted in a meme featuring a Brute who came to be called Craig.
Maybe the biggest surprise on this list is that Angry Birds still exists. Or it did until very recently. Guide Strats checked tweets through February 2023, and on Feb. 23, Rovio removed the game from Google Play and renamed it Red’s First Flight in the App Store. Whatever it’s called, it’s the most complained-about mobile game, with 30.47% of tweets about it being, well, angry.
Below is the table for that latter category. Go to Guide Strats' website to see an interactive table that shows complained-about games for all the platforms.
