MultiVersus New Characters and Beta Date

New and beloved characters have been announced for MultiVersus alongside an open beta release date.

Players are excited about the release date for MultiVersus' open beta in July 2022. The open beta is after the closed alpha test from May 19 to 27, which required sign-ups and invites in order to participate. In the closed beta, players can expect 15 characters to play as and seven maps to choose from.

A major point of this fighting game is its characters. Fans can play as their favorite superhero or even a cartoon-based character. The options are endless with an emphasis on 2v2 matchups.

Characters in MultiVersus range from various backgrounds of entertainment. There are appearances from ones like Arya Stark from Game of Thrones and Finn the Human from Adventure Time. Most recently announced are Taz from Looney Tunes, The Iron Giant from its titular piece, and Velma from Scooby-Doo.

Leaked in a Reddit thread from user Unserious-Sam00 is a list of characters that are confirmed and soon-to-be-confirmed due to voice lines and text. Among these suspected characters in this list are the Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz, The Joker from DC Comics, and Raven from Teen Titans and DC comics as well. Others that are highly speculated include Gandalf the Gray from Lord of the Rings and Rick Sanchez from Rick and Morty.

Specifically probable from the leaked voice memos, more appearances may occur like LeBron James and Marvin the Martian from Looney Tunes. There are many possibilities as well for inclusion of characters from the Harry Potter franchise, if they got the rights to do so. User Unserious-Sam00 wrote, "In the original leaks, seems to have been noted that Warner Bros. has been trying to get characters from them for the game. Whether or not they are/were successful seems to be unknown."

One of the most surprising characters found in the database was Eleven from Netflix's Stranger Things. While it is not completely confirmed, there are sound bytes of other characters referencing her and a full model found within the system.

Between the open beta soon approaching and dozens of characters being introduced and speculated, MultiVersus has a lot of tricks up its sleeve.
